Marriage

Individual Note

Clearly a member of the Church of Ireland in Castlerea but dates of birth, marriage, or death do not appear in local church records in Castlerea or in civil registrations in Dublin. Most likely personal history was derived as follows:

BIRTH: The 1841 Irish Census shows he died at age 60 but Census can be off as many as 10 years. More reliable are the Sandford Estate rent rolls for the mid 1800s which show the Cloonree and other properties changing hands from Theophilus to his representatives indicating he died or about that year, 1836.

NOTE: Theophilus and his wife, Elizabeth, are not buried with his children in St. Joseph's RC Cemetery in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon.

MARR: Probably 1802, based on birth date of first child, Robert, in 1803.

DEATH: Circa 1836, as recorded in Sandford Estate rent rolls.

FAM: The baptisms of two of his children are recorded in local Church of

Ireland records in Castlerea. Remaining children were probably

also baptized in the Church of Ireland, perhaps somewhere else in

County Roscommon.
