John Hume's will dated July 1828 mentions his brother-in-law John Charles Bliss Parke to be appointed guardian to their childrenn. The will was drawn up on the ship Sir Edward Pratt off Bengal. He died a few days after arriving at Portsmouth. There is a memorial to him at there.
