Apparently married Sarah Goodwin 13 August 1655, probably in Londonderry.
Appears as "Commonwealth soldier" and was living in Drumcliffe, Co. Sligo in
1665 (see Hearth Money Rolls).
Year 1634 or prior, given here as year of birth, is probable but not yet
documented.
This is believed to be the Roger Parke who, as Titulado, held -- according to
Census of Ireland, 1659 -- the lands of Court and Tinid, Drumcliffe,
Ballygillgan, Culadruman, Castlegavan, Monananen, Lisnanorus, Aghagan, and
Bradecolline, all in County Sligo. These lands are probably included in 252 acres in GLENCARBURY and MAGHERYMORE, in the barony of Carbury, Co. Sligo, given Roger Parke under the Act of Settlement with an enrollment date of 13 October 1668.
NOTE: GLENCARBURY is undoubtedly the present-day GLENCAR on the boundary of counties Sligo and Leitrim.
